I am a master's student at The Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, applying to PhD programs in Sociology for Fall 2027. My research examines how communities in India use collective action and social movements to assert legitimacy amid economic, technological, and climate upheaval.
My current research projects focus on social network analysis of plutocratic philanthropy, social movements and political opportunity, gendered household giving patterns, and agricultural cooperatives & mobilization. I have presented work at the American Political Science Association (APSA) and Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) conferences.
At Brandeis, I work at the Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and The Racial Justice and Technology Policy (RJxTP) program. I'm a recipient of the Coexistence Endowed Fellowship and Sillerman Fellowship.
Before Brandeis, I worked in India's social impact ecosystem for three years in chief-of-staff roles at a major citizenship education program and a policy research think tank. My experience spans both grassroots and high-level policy contexts, as I began with grassroots work in Punjab and later worked in Delhi's policy ecosystem, contributing directly to national policymaking and the work of constitutional and statutory bodies. I have also worked with scholars at UC Berkeley's Political Science department on projects in electoral politics, political economy, and development policy.
My work has been recognized by UNESCO, The World Bank Group, the Mercatus Center, and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS). I'm a graduate of the Dexterity School of Leadership and Entrepreneurship and have published extensively in leading Indian media.
